SimchaSnap lets a host collect guests’ photos from a simcha in one shared album. This page explains, in plain English, what we keep and why.
What we collect
- Event details the host enters: names, type of event, date and settings, plus the host’s email address.
- Photos guests upload, with an optional name and, if the host turns it on, which side they sat on.
- Album sign-ups: a phone number or email a guest leaves to get the full album later (optional).
- Printed-sign orders: name, email, phone (optional) and shipping address.
- Basic technical data: a scrambled (hashed) version of your connection’s address to stop spam and abuse, and a small note on your phone that remembers which photos are yours so you can delete them.
Why
Only to run the album: show photos to the people the host invites, email the host their private link and important notices, send album sign-ups their album, and print and ship sign orders.
Who can see an album
Anyone who has the event’s link or QR code can open it, so share it only with your guests. The host can approve, hide or delete any photo.
Deleting
- Guests can delete their own photos. Hosts can delete any photo, or the whole event, at any time.
- Empty events (no photos) get a warning email after 23 days and are removed at 30 days.
- Events with photos and nothing new for 60 days get a warning email and are removed 30 days later, unless the host taps “Keep my event” in that email.
- Nothing is removed automatically without a warning email sent at least 7 days before. Events without a host email are never removed automatically.

What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising trackers. Your photos and details are stored with our cloud hosting provider and are shared only as needed to run the service (for example, with a print partner to make a sign you ordered, or a payment processor when you pay).
Children
Photos at a simcha often include children. They are uploaded by guests at the host’s event and shown only to people with the event link. Hosts can remove any photo, and parents can ask us to remove one by email.
